Org structure maintenance restrictions

Hello,
 
My client has 2 company codes on the same SAP client and we are
investigating the options for each company maintaining their own org
structure.
However, we want to prevent each accidentally adjusting the other's org
structure.
 
Can anyone share their experience on the options around restricting
maintenance of organisation structures on the same client?
 
What are the options?
Has anyone else in the group had a similar issue?
