CRM documents

Hi Dale,

To start with your last question, Yes you have to do some customizing
settings to enable the creation of follow up transactions (quotations).

Path:
CRM-Transactions-Basic settings-Copying control for BT-define CC for
Trans.types.

Here you can define for which transaction, which follow up transaction
can be created.=20
What you should do here is define the Quotation transaction to be able
to be created as a follow up transaction for a Quotation.
(This is probably the reason for not being able to successfully use this
FM)

When this is done you should be able to use the FM I mentioned to create
relations between de several Offering documents. I used as relation
type: VONA (vorganger/nachfolger) between Customer Contacts.

When using this relation type, I know that the relations can be accessed
by users by clicking on the "relations" button in the transaction.=20
I meant with: "the display is easy for the users" that when the user is
routed to 1 Quotation by the Workflow, he/she only has to click on the
relations button to see all the related Quotations. So Yes, when using
this FM it becomes quit easy for the users to access al related
Quotations and Documents.

Good luck!

Hi Robert:

Thanks for the feedback. The document is actually a financing contract
lease offering not a quotation but still part of the CRM transactions
and
works similarly to a quotation document. I have been working with the fm
you referenced, but it has not enabled me to make the links between
several
offerings.
In your statement " For the users it is very easy to display all the
relations of a
Quotation and access them, so maybe it would be sufficient to link the
Image to just one Quotation?" Did you mean that the display was easy if
the function module was invoked or using another method? Also, do you
know
if there is a configuration setting that enables the manual creation of
a
follow up quotation?

Hi Dale,

I've been working on a Workflow (CRM) which distributes archived
documents linked to a transaction(Customer Contacts). As you probably
know most transactions in CRM can be "related" to each other.

I've used Function module: ISMS_BO_BINARY_RELATION_CREATE to create some
Custom relations between Contacts and between Contacts and Office
documents(SOFM)

So probably you can link your offering documents(assuming you mean
Quotations) using this FM (I'am not sure whether it is possible to
create relations between several offering documents because you can't
manually create a "Follow up Quotation").
For the users it is very easy to display all the relations of a
Quotation and access them, so maybe it would be sufficient to link the
Image to just one Quotation?

Therefore you also could use just one Quotation in you workflow and
explain to the users there can be more Quotations related!

It is just an idea, hopefully it can be of any use....

Hi All:

We are implementating a number of CRM/Image document workflows where we
have run into a performance snag when the number of offering line items
exceed 250. SAP recommends that we split any CRM offering documents that
exceed 250 line items into separate documents to avoid performance
degradation. However, since we have only one image document per
multiple
SAP offering documents, we would like to assign the image to all related
documents automatically. We have not yet determined how we will group
the
related SAP offering documents but we are assuming with custom code we
can
create a field that links all related documents.
Has anyone implementing CRM workflows and imaging encountered a
situation
of this kind?
Has anyone worked with workflows and documents in another application,
where it was necessary to process a number of SAP documents as a grouped
workitem linked to one image document? In our solution we are using
both
early and late assign functionality.

Thanks,
