Hi Phil Soady,
Thanks for your information,
After passed this info to basis guy, he told that system doesn't use quota
and the setting has been extended 3times bigger, but the error status still
exist.

Best regards
Sanusi

See the Transaction RZ12 for docu of the following settings.
The settings are made (BY THE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR!!!!) in rz10.

rdisp/rfc_max_comm_entries quota for use of communication entries
rdisp/rfc_max_login Quota for logins
rdisp/rfc_max_own_login quota for own logins
rdisp/rfc_max_own_used_wp quota for own used work processes
rdisp/rfc_max_queue Quota for dispatcher request queue
rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp number of waiting dialog work processes
rdisp/rfc_use_quotas switch to enable/disable rfc quotas

If the system is very busy and many workitems are to be started in batch
then these settings are of interest...

When the work processes are full or nearly full, this controls what happens,
When the system gets too busy, then ideally the rfc call would fail and be
found
in SM58. If this continues to happen then the system is configured well
but under sized. If no sm58 entries appear (failed rfcs) and more
time outs etc, then perhaps the entries are set to high, and the system
tries too hard
to do everything asked and therefore overloads the system to the point it
crawls.

If dialog access bad at the same time ? Ie the system isnt overloaded.
The then above settings have LITTLE or nothing to do with problem.
If the system isnt busy, then I would suspect the timeout occurs
due to network connections issues. Ie a basic PING would have timed out.
You mentioned work place, so I assume you are triggering a remote Event in
the backend
from Workplace?

Hope you find the issue...

We have had the same problem - check with basis that the concurrent RFC
connections allowed is at least the SAP default. For some reason basis
seems to see that there are multiple concurrent connections allowed and
think that it is a bad thing. I think the transaction is RZ12 or RZ10, but
they will be able to confirm what sort of script settings they have made.

Hi Tomasz,
Thanks for your suggestion.
And the result say 'rpts' column is 00. It recommends us to check the
gateway or the target system. I've given the result to our basis guy, I'll
let you know then.

Best regards
Sanusi

RFC connectivity failing? Please check in transaction SM58.

Kind regards,

Hi workflow expert,

I've one problem that has been disturbing me since a week ago.

Our development system is R/3 4.6C.

When we triggered an object, the activate event trace recorded status:
Receiver started correctly.

But for half hour when we checked in workplace, there wasn't any workitem.

And when we looked at recorded event trace, status still was same:
Receiverer started correctly, but RFC Status recorded Time Limit Exceeded.

I don't have any idea to solve this problem, I've checked all customizing
and the result looked okay.

Is there any suggestion to check any customizing? Or is this basis problem
to extend time limit?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Best regards

Sanusi
