Initiator of event not being shown

Hi all -=20
 
I'm having issues with 4.7 in that when an event is triggered in the =
system (and therefore kicking off a workflow) the system is not =
recording who was the person who raised the event - therefore the =
workflow has no initiator.  Has anyone else had this issue?  What did =
you do to counter it?
