Task description displayed instead of workitem text

Hi.
 
We are on 4.6c and have a rather strange behavior in the business workplace.
When displaying all workitems, some of them show the task description in the
title field instead of showing the workitem text. All these are the same
task.
If display is chosen for one of the workitems, the correct workitem text is
displayed for this workitem when exiting to the list.
 
Another potential problem is that some variables in the workitem text keep
the same value as a previously executed workitem, but I have just heard
about this and not seen it happen.
 
The logon and maintenance language of the workflow is the same.
