Workflow and PReq Release Procedures

Hi Tara,
When you set up PReqs for line item approval, the approver gets one work item for each line item that they are approving.

One way we made it clearer for the approvers with one of my clients on 4.6C was to redefine the work item text for the approval task TS00007986 (in workflow template wf_req_rel, WS00000038). We included the PReq number and line item number, as follows:

  Requisition release &_WI_Object_Id.Number& &_WI_Object_Id.Item&

This is not considered a modification by SAP (always a good thing to avoid if possible).

This way the approver can see what PReq and Item the work item is for, while they are still in their Business Workplace. Of course it's always possible to add other relevant items (up to 4 max.) to the WI text.

Good luck!

Subject: Workflow and PReq Release Procedures

Hello Workflowers -

I have a question regarding the relationship between Workflow and release
procedures for purchase requisitions. Our MM team wants to setup their
release procedures at the PReq line item level. They want to use Workflow
for the messaging and approvals. My question is this: Will the agent
receive a separate workitem for each PReq line item that requires approval
or will he receive one workitem per PReq with all line items on the PReq
that require his approval. We are on 4.6C.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Tara
