Thanks, Michael.

OK, I think you just answered my question in my latest posting
regarding the two ways /places of defining roles on workflows.
I have taken note of your comments!

Best regards,
Frank.

Hi Frank,
Urgent problems in South Africa .... Never!

Note that the default role only applies if no agent is defined in your
workflow template. In the standard SAP, WS10000052 already has a role
defined in the step which calls your task, thus that takes precedence.
So, plug your role into the role defined in your workflow step rather
than
the task, and make sure your bindings are correct.

Subject: HELP!! Agent determination - Possible VS. Actual agents

Hello everyone,

We have an urgent problem here at City of Cape Town project on the
Southern tip of Africa:

We need to demo a working prototype this morning but we have hit a
snag: the agent determination in a single-step task is ignoring the
setup of a default role for specific agent determination and persists
in
sending notifications to EVERYONE in the 'Possible Agents' role.

The default role (with the agent determination function module) that
should be picked up is not being picked up. The function module tests
OK
on its own and return the corrects parameters.

The workflow in question is the standard FI-GL Parking one, main one
is
WS00400032, sub workflow WF10000052 which executes task TS00007914. It
is this task, TS00007914, which has been set up to use a custom role
which executes the custom function module. We are running on SAP 4.6C.

Please can anyone suggest something that we could try? The standard
diagnostics, SWUD, conatiner display, SWI1, do not seem to be of much
use here.

Thanks in advance,

Frank Eriksen-Miller.
