Standard ArchiveLink Tasks

IMAGEASSIGNEARLY - It is my understanding that this creates a link entry in
TOA01, pops the image up on a viewer, and starts an SAP transaction (i.e.
MIRO or FB03).
 
We wanted to use it but ended up doing a Call transaction in our method.  It
allowed up the ability to pre-fill the screen for the end user.
 
IMAGEASSIGN - It is my understanding that this creates the link entry after
the transaction is saved.
 
We use IMAGELINK ASSIGN.

We process about 11000 invoices per month using our AP Workflow application.

SAP provides two standard tasks to use for what was originally called "Early
archiving" and is now "Store for later entry".  The first task is TS7869,
the second is TS30001128.  The latter task is evidently only available from
release 4.5A on.  TS7869 uses the IMAGE object and the IMAGEASSIGN method.
TS30001128 uses the same object but the IMAGEASSIGNEARLY method.
 
Does anyone know what the differences are between the two methods -- when
and why would one use one task over the other?
