loss of workitem attachments

Hello Workflowers,
 
our agents are used to attach notes to the workflows.
For example they explain their reasons of rejection.
 
Now we plan to archive our workflows. We'll still be able to
have a look at the workflow log of the archived workitems via
transaction sww_archive.
 
But, as said in SAP Note 49545, we'll lose our attached notes!
 
Does anybody know if there is a way to "backup" the attachments
and access them via sww_archive or is there any other chance?
