Completed WF showing as task without agents

Hi all,
Perhaps an arbitrary question, but how come I get completed tasks
showing in SWI2_ADM1 (Work items without agents), even though an agent
has completed the task?
e.g. an approval step shows up in the WI without agents report, status
'COMPLETED' yet I can drill down to the tech log, which looks similar
to:
WF-BATCH      Dialog work item created      22.11.2002 10:38:33
Mary Poppins  Work item reserved            25.11.2002 10:01:55
Mary Poppins  Execution started             25.11.2002 10:01:55
Mary Poppins  Work item processing complete 25.11.2002 10:02:25
 
What gives?
Oh, and the entire WF is complete, and I'm working on a 4.6c system.
Any inpot appreciated.
