Workitem text modification

Hello,
 
When I browsing in my workflow inbox under SAP 4.6 C, I have an icon =
(More
function... Change work item)
 to modify the workitem text of the selected work item.
 
This modification has only effect for the actual work item =
instance.(!?)
 
Has any "side effect" of this modification?
 
Hopefully not, but if you have any protections again, please ...
