Issues with object EXTSRV

Has anyone used the SAP delivered object EXTSRV?  It is used in the
Personnel Change Request workflows.
 
I am trying to debug the method EXTSRV.PROCESS and am not able to do so.  I
have put breakpoints within the program and it does not hit them when I
instanciate the object and execute the method.  When I look at the object
in the BOR, it is neither modeled or released...Is that a problem.  If so,
why would SAP deliver it that way.
 
Basically our dialog workitems that call this method do nothing right now.
 
Any help would be appreciated.
