Security with S_WF_WI

Hi Serge,
Task classification is really a way of controlling access to work items by substitutes,
not administrators.
If you use task classification then you need to classify each task.
I've yet to find any tasks provided by SAP that already have a classification
and I find a lot of workflow developers don't even know that option is there.
So it tends to be a lot of work.

If you want to decentralise administration, then the best option is to assign
specific administrators to each workflow that you are using in the basic data
of the workflow. This won't stop them being able to execute other work items,
but will mean they will only be notified of problems in the workflows they are
responsible for.

Don't forget that if an administrator does act on a workflow, this shows up in the
workflow log and work item history.

Hi everyone,

My client wants to be able to decentralise the administration of the workflows (work items) by application (HR, PS, MM,...) so that an administrator in MM would not be able to correct problems in the other modules. We have tried to use task classification and adding the object S_WF_WI with the specific task clas but the user still as access to the work items when he use SWI2 transaction...

Does anyone have tried that ? Do you have a better way of doing this ?

Regards.
