AW: Authorizations for WF-BATCH

I find that much shouting and screaming can be avoided by giving the =
Basis
guys the excerpt from the SAP documentation that clearly recommends =
SAP_ALL,
and a simple choice with it:

1. File a copy of the documentation to cover their backside, and move =
on to
more interesting topics.. or
2. Painstakingly test all operative workflows, starting out WF-BATCH =
with
minimal authorisation, then analyse each and every RFC and other error =
that
may be caused by missing authorisations of the background user (your =
Basis
guys will know how hard these are to find and identify as such), and =
then
build up the WF-BATCH profile bit by bit, flag by flag, hundreds of =
them..

Guess what choice is made 9 out of 10 times ;-)

Hth,
Stephan

Subject: Authorizations for WF-BATCH

Our Basis team is under a mandate to limit authorizations in =
Production, to
the
minimum needed, for all logins including WF-BATCH. They are especially
cracking
down on use of the SAP_ALL profile which is assigned to WF_BATCH as per
SAP's
recommendation. Has anybody faced a similar security mandate? What
profiles/authorizations would I need for WF-BATCH, if SAP_ALL is =
removed?

We are currently on 4.0B and migrating to 4.6C in a few months, so I am
interested in a solution which will work in both releases.

Thanks in advance for your help.
