Sending notification to Sales Group or Purchasing Group

Hi,
 
We want to create 2 workflow notifications, one going to the Purchasing
Group
and the other going to the Sales Group of the related Sales Order.
We are on 4.6c.
 
Is there a direct way to get from the Purchasing Group and Sales Group to
the
user name or personnel no?
 
I could do a name search on V_USERNAME, but I'm hoping someone can
give me a better suggestion.
