WorkItem Routing for HR

Hi Lisa,
Responsibility rules will give you what you need. They essentially
allow you to specify criteria and then assign your own org units
positions jobs etc directly from your org plan to the criteria.
Plus they are dead easy to use with workflow and easy to maintain
- particularly if you already have folks who are used to HR org plans.
They even show up as "RY" assignments on various HR org plan views.
So you can maintain the criteria-to-orgobject relationship either via
PFAC or via your HR org plan views.
Available from 4.0B.

In your workflow, you point the responsible agent assigment to the rule
(remember these used to be called standard roles) and then use the
binding to sort out the criteria.

There's plenty of documentation in the workflow section of the SAP Library
on this
for you to read.

Hi Lisa,

There are couple of ways it can be achieved.

1. One way you can create a custom organization structure/position
thru transaction PP01. Best thing about custom organization is that you
can create
a different security profile for custom object so that can be maintained
without risk of maintenance companies org structure.

2. If you can identify the user, most probably security folks might create
security
role. There is a way you can get users from the security role.

3. A combination of both 1 and 2 , position linked to security role.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

Raj

Hi All,

We are needing to route work items to a select group of users.
However, these users are not contained within the same org and
may hold different types of jobs as well - thus we can not use
the companies existing org structure for routing. My questions
is how can we achieve this?
It is my understanding that a stand alone org unit can not be
used as it would conflict with the PD org structure, reporting,
etc. Also, we are not wanting to hard code and the positions
associated with these users will not be static. Also, we are
trying to avoid any unnecessary maintenance of custom tables,
etc. In previous messages I have read that work centers may
provide what we are looking for - however, it is my understanding
that they will be using work center for other functionality.
Any suggestions?
thanks
Lisa
