Hi Thad,
If you are in CRM 3.0 you have the new FORM step available
which allows you to create simple forms quickly (including tailoring
the layout) and put your own routines around it's processing including
validation if you want.

The forms work via SAPGUI for HTML without any need to
create special ITS templates although I understand you
can do that if you wish. They also use the workflow toolbox
which has some great options such as creating attachments
while you are still executing the work item.

Alternatively you could use one of the EBP workflows
as an example such as the request for creation of a new user
- You have a web transaction that lets them enter the form
details, saves them and sends a workflow event to start the
workflow with the follow-on processsing. SAPForms for HTML
is used for the follow-on processing steps so that all work items
can be executed via the web.

If you want to create a status transaction, try looking
at transaction SWI6 or the generic object services options
for examples. You basically need a screen that identifies
the workflows relevant to the customer, and then pulls the information
out, e.g. using the WAPI function modules, that you want to
display to them.

Subject: Request for Master Data Change WF in CRM 3.0

Hello,

Perhaps someone got through similar task or can give some directions how to
go about it. Any ideas/hints are very appreciated.

We are in process of implementing CRM 3.0 and SD R/3 (rel. 4.6c). Primary
house for our customer master data is going to be CRM.
The customers will be created in CRM only. Obviously there will be an
interface between CRM and SAP R/3.

A workflow in CRM similar to SAP R/3 Request for Master Data Change is
being contemplated:
1. Such a workflow would be triggered from Intranet by filling out a
customer request form there.
2. The filled out change request form would be then transferred to CRM.
3. The responsible processor receives the request in their worklist or
workflow inbox.
4. The processor may require additional info, reject the request, forward
it, or make the requested changes.
5. Status query of a request would have to be provided as well.

Again, any help is very welcomed.

Regards,
Thad
