Difficulty testing a workflow that is triggered by a web tran saction

Kim, Thanks for your quick response. following are the answers to your
questions:

1. WS20000081 does create an event when you use the test button from inside
the workflow builder. When I do the same with my copied workflow, nothing
appears in my workflow log.

2. I don't think that I explained myself well. Within ESS, there is an
option for entering an absence. After submitting this absence request a
workflow is started (WS20000081). My question is how do I get it to start my
new copied workflow.

Thanks Noel

Noel,
As I understand it, the original workflow WS20000081 doesn't generate any
events..
Have you checked that?
If that's true, what's working in the original that's not working in the
copy?

and to answer your other query If I understand it correctly, you can change
the
ESS menu by editing the ESS role using transaction PFCG (look at the ess
role
assigned to your user).

Assistance required...

I am developing a workflow for use in ESS (4.6b) which is causing me a
slight headache. I am able to test and run through the entire SAP standard
workflow for employee absence WS20000081 with no problems. Our company
requires some minor modifications to the standard which has required me to
copy this standard. I have done this, assigned agents, coppied subactivites
and assigned agents so that i have mirrored the SAP standard. When I go to
test the new workflow it does not create an event that apppears in the log.
I have traced the workflow but can't see whats wrong. WHAT AM I MISSING...

also...

I understand that we will need to repoint ESS Employee Absence to this new
workflow. ANy guidance on where I can find out how to do it would be greatly
appreciated.

thanks in advance
