How to know if object is in Workflow?

Function Module CHECK_OBJECT_IN_WF should do it.

We currently have a Workflow for Engineering Change Requests which is
triggered by status management.  What is the easiest way to take the object
number (Engineering Change Request number) to see if Workflow is currently
processing the object (are there any unprocessed work items linked to the
object)?  I don't care where it is in the process, just that is in the
process.  I'm particularly interested in any applicable function modules.
