deadline/overdue items

I have to agree with this under one condition: don't you need to have PD
implemented to be able to maintain subsitutes for users?
You can maintain A210 for positions, but what about users? General
maintenance PP01 does not seem to work in this case.

Hi, why not use the PD approach to managing workflow substitution? OSS Note
74000 states that you can manage the substitution via PP01 infotype 210.

I would be interested in finding out how many people actually use this
approach.

Thanks,

Yes - substitution is your best solution. You can set subsitutes for
     other
     users via custom program (unfortunately).

     Hello Bruce, SAP-WUG,

I recently took your BC601 class in Atlanta...going along the point
     you
mentioned below, what do you do if the person that has reserved the
     work
     item
has left the company or gone on vacation?  Is there a way to take that
     piece of
functionality and put it in the hands of an admin or another user...in
     such
     a
way where a third party can 'pull back' a work item from an individual
     and
forward it to someone else or back to the group (imagine doing this
     without
deadline monitoring)?  I have experimented with the 'substitute'
     option but
     that
doesn't seem to have the functionality we need (because the user can't
     do
     this
if they leave the company or go on vacation).  Can an admin set up
     substitutes
for people...for example, Person C setting up Person A as a substitute
     for
     Person B.

     Thanks,
     Sheldon

     Hi,
Bruce Pollard, current SAP Workflow instructor based out of Atlanta.
     The
person that double-clicks on a Workitem from the worklist, does
     reserve and
once reserved, it disappears from everyone else's inbox.  The replace
functionallity works as designed.  As delivered replace allows one to
replace a workitem so that all prior recipients can once again see it.
There is no configuration needed for that functionallity to work.  The
person with it reserved can simply select the replace pushbutton from
     the
Workplace application toolbar or replace on any of the other Workflow
reports where the replace icon is displayed.  If it doesnt work in
     your
system, that is a system problem and you should consider opening a
     trouble
ticket.  I would also check authorizations.  By default anyone with
     the
ability to reserve a workitem, also has the ability to replace.

     Subject: deadline/overdue items

     Hi!

     (we are on version 46c)

     Question 1)
     The scenario is as follows:
A group of persons have got a deadline item
in their inbox. One of the persons double clicks on the
workitem. The workitem disappears from the other persons
inboxes and the status is 'In process'.
The person that opened the deadline item then wants to use
     a 'replace'-functionality like ordinary
workitems in order to make it available to the other receivers
but this functionality seems to be lacking.
Is this as it intentionally was meant to be or is it a bug?
Is there something we can do in order to enable the 'replace'
     functionality of missed deadline items?

     Question 2)
Can someone confirm that 'overdue' items are items that missed
the 'latest end' and that there is nothing else special about
these items (just a way of classifying missed deadline items)?

In advance, thanks for any help!

     Regards,
     Elias Bergan
