workflow can be configured to retry as many times as you like. Also, the
duration between the retrys can also be set.

Subject: Using Workflow to update Customer Master Data

Hi,

We let our customer change their master data through the web. When the web
trancation is completed, a workflow is triggered and a work item is sent to
the person responsible. The actual update is executed only when the
responsible person approved the workitem.

In this scenario, does it make sense to update the data as soon as the
workitem is approved? Or the data be stored temporarily and a batch program
will do a mass update later, maybe at midnight.

My main concern is: if the update were to occur immediately, the customer
master data might be locked (by another user). If the workitem keeps trying
and the customer record is being locked for hours, will it cause significant
system loads?

Thank you.
