Hi Chris,
In 4.6 you can assign workflow tasks to activity groups i.e. profile
generator
roles, so they are literally aligned with your security authorisations.
Worth checking how many activity groups you are using (surely less than 900)
and whether they are useful groupings for this purpose - i.e. do they relate
to
job functions or groups of jobs normally assigned to people.

Worthwhile considering implementing workflows that help you manage your task
assignments - for instance a "transfer to new position" workflow (ESS has
something
like this) that makes sure everyone is reminded of what needs to be
done/reviewed
including task assignments.

Should also have a look at task groups and see what mileage you can get out
of them
so that you can make assignments to all tasks in the group together rather
than have to
make assignments to each task individually. Haven't played with task groups
much yet
myself - perhaps other SAP-WUGians can suggest best way to get the most out
of them?

Subject: SAP Workflow

Hi All,

We are curretnly using 46B version in HR and FI and wish to use workflow
functionality. We have a Org Structure with 10000 positions and about 800
jobs. Is it a good idea to be attaching the workflow tasks to jobs or should
we attach tasks to some other Object (to be created) at a higher level than
job so that we do not have to do too much maintenance in future for 900
jobs.If we go down this path, will it lead to too many changes to the
standard workflow (leave application) or is it manageable. Is it worth the
effort (creating and attaching new object type).
Please advise.

Thanks,
Chris.
