New Workflow

Hello All
 
I`m attempting to create a Workflow for an out of date Material write off
process.
This is the first workflow that I`ve worked on and am running into a few
difficulties.
I`m trying to create a completely new Object that will call a bespoke
transaction, however we did not cover
how to do anything like this on the BC601 course.
 
Can anybody help or point me in the right direction.
I`ve already worked through the Notification of Absence workflow but this
appears to use an Object that already exists in SAP.
 
Any help would be much appreciated
