setting up the integration between Workflow and Email

Hi Neeraja, I understand that. What I'm confused about is the underlying
mechanism that SAP uses to send messages externally to SAP. What it sounds
like some people are saying is that you simply fill in the addresses into
the user master records and you're ready to go. But it has to have some way
of transferring a message to an Internet mail address (SMTP server, Internet
mail gateway, Microsoft Exchange Connector) or something. Have you set
anything like that up?

Regards,
Michael

address in the user profile - this is mandatory in 4.6C. We have created an
email address for the background user IDs WF_BATCH, BATCHMAN, etc so they
can send emails from jobs and workflows.

receiving 'Out-of-office' mail from email recipients of background
jobs/workflows. The CPIC user needs to have a valid email address because if
any mail bounces with invalid address error, it confuses users.
