RFC Destination Settings for Workflow

Hi Chen, Ty,
Ty's problem turned out to be that their workflow system had been set up in
a very early release (probably 3.0c) and the client field was empty.
Although this works in practice, the SWU3 test was made more stringent later
and picked up this inaccuracy. Solution: Modify the RFC destination so that
it includes client 310. If you cannot modify the RFC destination (it is
locked if created in a later release) then delete it and create it again.
But DO NOT DO DELETE IT IN A LIVE PRODUCTION SYSTEM. If you are live you
will have to live with the error display until the next chance for
maintenance. However, the workflows will continue to run normally.

I think there is a note that addresses Chen's problem. In release 4.6C one
of the RFC functions was changed so that it no longer reads the password.
When you test the RFC connection using SWUB (called from SWU3) it shows an
error because it does not use the correct password for the test. I.e. The
test gives incorrect results.

Confused? Run the verify workflow using both alternatives in the generic
decision and you will get 2 notifications for each flow if the RFC
destination is working.

I guess we need to improve our online service note,
Alan Rickayzen

Subject: Re: RFC Destination Settings for Workflow

Hi Everyone,

We are in the verison of 4.6C.

I am also facing such problem about RFC Destination
Settings for Workflow .

When AutoCustomizing the 4.6C workflow environment
under transaction SWU3,
the RFC destination continues to show the message 'RFC
destination has incorrect password'.

when in 'Create logical destination for tRFC',click
the icon 'Synchronize Passwords'.
there is no error. However, when I do a test on the RFC
destination, it shows that
the ping was performed unsuccessfully and that the RFC
destination for SAP Business
Workflow is fully configured.

What am I missing?

Also, am I correct to assume from this message that
WF-BATCH and password are fine
since SAP did not prompt me for either one during the
test?
We currently have destination WORKFLOW_LOCAL_420 set
up on 4.6C.

As a side note, when user another user 'Mzhang' test
shows that the RFC has been configured completely.

Any reply will be appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Weidong Chen
