Hi,

Really delete or, much better, archive old data?

To archive the data, use transaction SARA for archiving object WORKITEM.
You have to customize some archiving feature, better ask to your SAP
administrator.

When general customizing are done and object specific customizing are ok,
you can archive your workitem and deleted them with standard program
directly from transaction SARA.

Be careful, only workflow with status CANCELLED or COMPLETED can be
archived. Workitem of type C (IDOC process) are not archived at all. For
them, better use program RSWWCIDE.

Be aware that is not possible to reload the data so check if standard
program RSWWARCR and RSWWARCP fit your requirement for reading archived
workitems.
If not, it's still possible to implement a specific reading program based on
the standard ones (not a long time).

If your purpose is to clean the database, you can use program RSWWWIDE and
RSWWHIDE, but be careful, these programs don't check if the workitem you are
deleting is currently part of a main workflow already in status STARTED.
Inconsistency could occurs if you don't take care of your selection-screen.

Regards.
