Workflow assistance

Good evening everyone.  I have created a workflow that works perfectly, with
the following exception.  I am trying to get information using another
program from the container data.  It only seems to work if placed in the
receiver FM field with the Event linkage detail, but then my workflow does
not star, i.e., this removes the sww_wi_create_via_event.  We placed the
program in the receiver type FM field, but it does not capture the data
there, not will the workflow trigger.  We have tried to call the
sww_wi_create_via_event from our program, but this is not working presently.
How do I address getting the desired information from the workflow using a
program and still have an operational workflow???  Can anyone shed any light
on this????
