I can at least confirm the first example (completed WI in non-completed=
WF) for
version 4.6B. The latter ought to be the same thing of course, although=
that has
not been tested here. If I recall correctly there is in the container (=
at least
in the WF builder) always a reference to the parent WI. This reference =
can be
used by SAP to traverse relations in order to check that the WI does no=
t have a
"higher-level" depending non-completed WI.

Subject: WI archiving criteria
Hello all.
I'm planning to archive workitems. I have one question on the criterias=
for
which workitems that can be archived. In the online documentation it sa=
ys:
"Furthermore, only those work items that do not depend on other, higher=
-level
work items are archived. This ensures that work items that are still be=
ing
processed are not archived."
Does this mean that you can not archive workitems that are complete if =
they are
within a not completed workflow? And does it also mean that if a comple=
ted
workitem that is included in a completed sub-workflow that in turn is i=
ncluded
in a not completed workflow the workitem can not be archived.
I would be happy if that was the case ;-)
/Patrik
