Archiving WORKITEM

I am just starting on trying to get an archive/delete process set up for our
production workflow environment (4.6c). We are up to 28 million entries in
the container instance table and are experiencing some substantial delays in
pulling up workflow overviews. We have been live for about 8 months and
unfortunately, this is our first step towards setting up archiving.

I have set some things up in our dev region and gotten some work items to
archive along with the items/elements underneath it. My question deals with
when you are looking at a document and pull up the Services For Object ->
Workflow -> Archived Workflows. I had an MM-IV document that had multiple
workflows started on a particular day. It looks like all the work items
involved got archived when I look at the analysis in SARA. But when I pull
up this screen for RSWWARCP, it is only bringing up the latest workflow log.
Is this the way it should be working? I was expecting something like the
Workflow Overview where you can select one of multiple workflows for the
same document. I think the users will be satisfied with being able to pull
the info from the archive, but I know they would want to be able to link to
more than 1 on specific cases. Also, is the view of the log from an archive
always in a 'technical' display instead of the Active-X option (that most
users would be more accustomed to seeing)?

Any info would be appreciated - especially if those using this know some
things I may want to watch out for. Thanks...
