Subject: Weird problem with Outlook Mapi

HI
I am running into a weird problem with the Outlook Mapi.
We are on SAP 4.6B using 6.1 GUI
We are using Outlook 2000
We have installed the MAPI

Now to the problem.
For some users the MAPI works just fine across all systems
For most users it is not possible to create a working MAPI Service
under their profile.

Once you specify the System and LogIn Parameters for these Users, Windows
Control Panel crashes. Windows is announcing a problem with a control panel
file MLCFG32.CPL.
On the same PC the MAPI installation will work for another SAP User.

Now the weird part.
As soon as we copy the SAP User ID and safe it under another Name the user
will be able to install the MAPI. We now have two exactly identical SAP user
Ids with different name. On the same PC ithe MAPI configuration will work
for
the newly created User ID and not for the old one.

I have checked OSS. There is nothing about this.

It clearly has something to do with SAP. Maybe the 4.6B SAP has some
problems with the 6.1 GUI MAPI version.

Did anybody had this problem before ?

any suggestions would be appreciated

cheers
