Workflow deadline

Hi Brindha,
Peter's absolutely correct - what you want is modeled deadline monitoring.
Have a look in the R/3 library for a more complete description.
Also depending on your R/3 version, you should find a wizard to help you set
up the modeled deadline monitoring in the menu options when you are in the
workflow
builder.
Remember the modeled deadline monitoring wizard and library descriptions
show you
how to kill the original workitem and do something else - it's up to you to
add
the alternative processing in the "Processing Obsolete" path - in your case
that
would be your steps to
a) send your email
b) create a new workitem with the alternative agent assignment

If you can get hold of a BC601 manual it should be explained in there
also.

Hi Brindha,

You may need to refer to the help for more detail, but my understanding is
that you have one of two options for deadline monitoring in each step in a
workflow template. You can either choose to just send an email in which
case the workitem remains in the existing agent's inbox, or you can choose
to 'model' how the deadline will be handled. If you model the deadline, you
will get an extra branch(es) in your workflow template, in which you can
nominate what actions are to take place, for example:
- termininating the workitem (ie so you can escalate to someone else's
inbox)
- sending mail, if the standard mail notification feature is not adequate
or, as in your case, you want to both send a mail and also move the workitem
to a new person.

Hope this helps..

Hi All,

When a workflow deadline is reached is there a way to
send an email also?? we are using standard SAP to
email setup and using the standard feature in SAP to
send notification when deadline is reached. This
standard feature only sends a SAP notification and
also the work item does not move to the new person
responsible. Any suggesstions??

Thanks in advance.

Brindha
