Error'd workflows not deleting

Hi
 
I'm wandering whether one of you have encountered the following problem :
 
We have some workflows which go into error status (for various reasons), =
the document/object gets deleted (this workflow would normally have =
stopped) but the workflow remains in error status. Is there any way of =
getting these workflows to stop/delete (besides the nomal process - =
logically delete)?
