send mail task

Hi Menand,
If no mail is being sent, start with the obvious.  I'm assuming you want to
send to an
Internet email address - otherwise ignore point 1.
 
1. Is your R/3 4.6B system set up to send mails to Internet email addresses
at all
regardless of whether they come from workflow or not?  Try sending an
ordinary mail
to an email addresses from SAPoffice or check with your basis guys.
 
2. If 1. is ok, check that the SAPOffice settings allow sending of mails to
"Organizational units"
- that means it will allow the workflow initiator format.   If that flag is
off,
nothing works.  You might need the basis guys to help track down the
SAPOffice config
settings - they're in the Basis Tools > Business Communication > Office >
Shared office settings
section from the SAP Easy access menu (standard SAP menu).
 
3. If all appears well, check the binding generated by the wizard by going
to the control section of
your send mail step.  Especially check that the recipient type is correct.
You might want to try hardcoding
in the mail recipient to start with, and swap it back to workflow initiator
later.
 
4. Check the task created by the wizard - make sure it has a work item text
and description so that there
is text for the mail.
 
5. Check the user to whom you are sending the mail.  Are they a SAPOffice
user - i.e. do they have access
to SAPoffice, can they send and receive mails outside of workflow?
 
6. Check your workitem that failed (I presume)?  There should also be an
error message with some
further suggestions.   Have a look for OSS notes about that error message.

Hello All
 
I`m attempting to create a task that will send a mail to one of our internal
users.
I`ve tried using the wizard and creating a my own task.
 
I`m using the object SELFITEM with the method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION.
I`m attempting to send a notification to the workflow initiator, however no
matter what I try I can`t seem to send the message.
 
Any help would be much appreciated.
