Modification of escape-button

Hi all,
 
our client would like to change the functionality of the button 'esc' in
some of our workflows.
 
This is what he would like to do: If a user triggers the escape-button the
workitem and the workflow are stopped immediately. The user returns to the
Customer Interaction Center ( This is where he started the workflow).
 
Same question in the Front-Office Processes: Turn back to the CIC with the
escape-button.
 
I have never heard about a modification like this. Is it possible?
