Event trace log not generated

Dear All,
 
I am quite new to Workflow and am exploring Workflow in 4.6C. I have a
problem with Event Trace.
 
I switched on Event Trace without any restriction conditions. But when I
tried to display the trace log, no events was displayed. However, some
workflows can still be triggered from transactions through event linkage.
 
Are there any other settings to activate the Event Trace? Thanks.
