Hi Peter,

we rolled out the SAP MAPI using two technologies:

- the "newprof" functionality which allows you to do the setup of the =
MAPI
via ini-files, please check the OSS and the MAPI documentation for that
point
- and a packaging and distribution tool under Windows NT (I don=B4t =
remember
the tool name but every network administrator should have one at hand)

After the background installation the user only had to enter his SAP =
User
and password in a small popup and the rollout was done.

But we had some trouble if we wanted to do updates of the MAPI this =
way,
those updates had to be done manually at most of the clients.

Good luck,

Markus

Subject: Rolling out SAP MAPI

All,

We would like to roll out the SAP MAPI service to all of our SAP user =
base
(maybe 500 or so users) so that they can process their work items from
Outlook 98. Does anyone know of an way to automate this roll out =
without
requiring manual intervention by each user?

Regards

PS. I am happy enough to develop a solution however the Outlook 98 =
object
model does not expose the Services collection.
