We had, and still have this problem with Statoil. We are using IBM Cont=
ent
Manager as an archive and their Commonstore solution for SAP. We also u=
se the
SAP Alviewer, and also OLE based viewer solutions. We are testing Netsc=
ape with
plug in for TIFF.
 
We had a dialogue with IBM Labs i B=F6blingen, Germany, and they contac=
ted SAP. I
think they agreed that this is a SAP-problem. But IBM tried a workaroun=
d, that
we were not able to test for several reasons. We are interestet that SA=
P users
from many locations put pressure on SAP to have this issue solved.

Hello,
 
We're on a 4.0B System and implemented an early archiving scenario for
invoices. During the workflow enabled process of verification the users
often get a user decision and the archived invoice is displayed via a
parallel method in the Archive Viewer. As we installed an archive of a
company called Saperion we are using its viewer. Problem is, that we want
the archive viewer close automatically after a user has executed the user
decision (approval/denial), but it doesn't work. What I've tried so far:
 
I used the standard method of object type IMAGE, WindowClose and configured
it as a method after workitem excecution, but it didn't work. Well, I
discovered that this is a dialog method, so I just copied it, implemented it
in my subtype ZIMAGE as a backround method but it doesn't work either. The
method is using the function module ARCHIVWINDOW_CLOSE, which is also
mentioned in the documentation for this purpose.
I tried the same just for fun with the standard archivelink viewer from SAP
and the window is closing without any problem, even without the method
WindowClose.
 
Further on in the customizing of the application and protocols in the
archive link directory of the IMG , Transaction OAA4, there is also a menu
point Close Window. Is it there where I have to put in OLE-commands which
tell the viewer application to close the window? Does the above mentioned
method use these entries to close the window or are the both independent?
 
Has anyone used the windowclose functionality or experienced the same
problems? Any hints are highly appreciated.
