WF-Batch Authorizations

Jeffrey,
We had the same problem in our shop. I requested from our security what
transactions are attached to the ID they set up for workflow, but there are
too many to list. Here are some general descriptions of what our workflow
ID has, and doesn't have. Hope this helps.

Workflow ID has access to: all enduser transactions with no limits to
organizational structure, all access to CPIC authorizations, all access to
Batch processing functions, all access to all customized objects, all access
to EDI functionality, and SAP_NEW.

Workflow ID does NOT have: development/configuration, basis, security, or HR
transactions (because we do not use SAP HR).

Thank You,
Serena Young

Hi Jeffrey,

It is possible to customize the profile for WF-BATCH, for this you will need
to do the trace with the standard WF-BATCH (SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW, Background) in
the specific transaction you want to run, after that, analyze the trace and
create a specific profile for WF-BATCH. But in the future when you will to
implement the another workflow, it will be necessary to do the same process.

But explain to the client, the user WF-BATCH will never logon on the sistem
(Dialog) because it is Background. Try to logon whith de user WF_BATCH and
show to the client.

Best regards,

Hi All,

We know it is recommended to give the ID WF-Batch SAP_ALL & SAP_NEW, but my
client is real sticklers as far as security. Has anyone tried to build a
custom profile for WF-Batch and had either any success or failure. Please
let me know either way so I can respond to my client.

Thanx,
