Workflow EMail

Hi,
 
Has any one sent a URL through work flow task
 
I have a requirement to send a URL longer than 80
characters as a part of task description to send
EMail. EMail sent perfectly, but only the first
80 characters of the URL get interpreted as URL
rest of them as normal text. Is this a limitation
..
 
Can we send email within workflow other than
using the task method. Can I invoke a function. I
appreciate any help .
