Business Rules in Object Methods

One of the hot new topics in the business literature is the use of
business rules that can be easily changed by end-users. There are a
variety of packages that provide this functionality.
 
Has anybody out there experimented with calling business rule software
from within an object method - or is anyone interested in swapping
insights into this topic?
