HP Changengine and SAP or SAP driven by other workflow engines

This may be a long shot but here goes...
 
A client is already using HP Changengine (middleware based workflow product) for
some processes & is considering using it for driving SAP (bypassing Business
Workflow). We need to research the do-ability of this and whether there is a
reasonable track record of this.
 
I'd be very grateful for any experience / ideas around:
 
1) Use of HP middleware product: Changengine to integrate to SAP (or any other
ERP) & drive SAP processes
2) Use of SAP being driven by any non-SAP Business Workflow engine
