SAPoffice message missing ?

Some users tell me that they don't get any message that they have unread
documents in the inbox when logging on to the system.
I myself get the message (se the message below).
 
Could this be true ?
Is it possible to switch this function on/off for specific users and if so,
how do i do this ?
