[Reporting-announce] Preview MIT’s upcoming upgrade to Cognos 11

Hello All,

I’m emailing to let you know that Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) will be upgrading MIT's Cognos reporting platform to version 11 within the next few weeks.

Note that your existing reports will continue to function as expected once the upgrade is complete. This upgraded version of Cognos supports all current browsers; use of Firefox ESR will no longer be required for building and modifying reports.

Preview the new version of Cognos
To help acclimate you to the new, redesigned user interface, IS&T has launched a preview "sandbox" copy of our Cognos 11 environment in advance of the upgrade.

Starting today, you can access copies of your existing reports and create new, temporary reports by visiting the Cognos 11 sandbox at cognos-test.mit.edu<http://cognos-test.mit.edu/>.

The sandbox is for demonstration only; modifications made there will not be carried forward to the production environment. Feel free to make changes, as you will not impact any of your production reports.

The sandbox environment is available for a limited time, and will be shut down on May 1. When we have confirmed the upgrade date for the production environment, reports.mit.edu, we will communicate that.

Note that during this testing period, IS&T can only provide support for sandbox and upgrade-related issues.
