Hi Gregory,

You probably mean "begin_record"—IIRC there's no "begin_panda" command.

First, make sure you have enough memory on your system. If that's the case,
can you send us the stack trace at the time of failure? (If you're not
familiar with the process, let me know.)

Also, note that PANDA should build without any sources modifications with
gcc-5/g++-5, which are available for Ubuntu 18.04. gcc-7/g++-7 support is
in the to-do list.
