Subject: Petition for EU research budget

This week, on 22 and 23 November, the European Union heads of states and
governments will meet to discuss the EU research budget for the next seven
years. Several EU Member States are demanding severe cuts on the total EU b=
udget
and research will have to compete with other policy priorities. An online
petition has been launched to make the case to protect research funding,
including that of the European Research Council (ERC), from cuts. If you wi=
sh to
sign the petition and/or have additional information about the initiative,
