Dear all,
after the crane was repaired successfully today, the DESY crane group has
worked overtime until 21:30 and has completed the task to clear the
interaction area and the rails from all remaining shielding blocks.
The detector has been prepared to be moved in tomorrow. Anchors have been
placed in the north wall for the pulleys.
The crane group will resume to work in the hall at 8am on Saturday, to
mount the pulleys in preparation of the actual move, which is expected to
begin around 9am.
All collaborators onsite are welcome to watch the move of the detector
and of the electronics hut. We will need many eyes to spot any conflicting
motion and to make sure that all cables stay intact.
An exciting and long awaited milestone lies right ahead of us now.
Let's all hope that the rolling-in of OLYMPUS can be completed
successfully.
Best regards
Michael
