[mosh-devel] Question to the Developers (multiple server addresses?)

Hi!

Mosh already saved my day a few times, when
the Wifi went down and plugging in some
cable or switching to Mobile-Hotspot did
work immediately. Thanks a lot for that!

Now I encountered the situation in the
opposite direction. Connecting TO a host,
which has different ways to access the
Internet obviously can not work so far,
as the client can not be informed about
the switch. But would it be possible,
to add some option, to give mosh a list
of server-names/IPs, where the 'mosh-server'
might re-surface, when it's net is back?

So in case of 'hanging connection', the
client could ping 'round robin' through
the resulting IPs, in case the server
comes up with another *known* IP.

The case of 'server randomly gets new
IP' might be solved only by dyndns or
some alike service, and to ping a lot
of hosts in short time might look like
an attack, but limiting the list and
probing not too often might allow
to reconnect *TO* e.g. the laptop with
alternate connections, after it is moved
from cable to wireless, or 'hopped' to
a different wireless networks.

Just an idea, which 'sounds' not very
complicated, but I've not yet read the
code...

Yours Stucki
