Hi Edward-

Saw your comment on our certificates page and obviously this email.

Installing MIT certificates on the Motorola DROID is very possible but, thus far, have proven to be useless. The web browser does not present them to pages when requested and you simply get an SSL error when navigating to such sites. At this point, certificates on the DROID are a security risk with no benefit; especially since Google has not completed the ability to let you remove wipe the device (slated to be implemented Q1 2010).

We will continue to evaluate Android and provide instructions here<http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/x/hAdS%20%20> for early adopters.

Regards-
Andrew M.

Thanks Tom!

That did the trick. For other droiders:
Acount settings, Incoming settings, uncheck "Accept all SSL certificate"

Best,
Ed

Ed,

Lurking on the list. I just set up a Droid with another Exchange
server, and some on discussion boards complain that their servers
require it, but many agree - unset the *second* SSL option, something
like "Accept all SSL certs" and it works. Does for me, with no
obvious downsides, yet.

On a related note, I have yet to see a way to get MIT certs, so if you
do now, yell. Otherwise we wait until that feature appears on the
mobile web page.
