[Mobilepartners] Update on SyncML/TechTime Issues

Greetings!

As indicated in earlier email messages, IS&T is aware that there are issues with TechTime synchronization with Palm OS devices using SyncML that have appeared since updates, including the DST patch, were applied to the TechTime server during the week of 2/19.

Additionally, there had been reports of certain calendar entries not synchronizing (either wireless or wired sync). Some of these entries included repeating events (created prior to 2/19) and some events that have shifted by one hour on the server after 2/19.

IS&T continues to work with Oracle to rectify these issues and applied another patch to the TechTime server on Monday (3/5). Our testing has confirmed that the new patch does not resolve the problems and we would like to know if any additional problems have surfaced as a result.

If you are using any mobile device to synchronize with TechTime server, IS&T would appreciate your feedback on the following question:

Did you encounter any new issues other than the ones mentioned above? If so, please send me an email (andrewyu at mit.edu) with your device information (e.g. model, carrier, method of synchronization).

Also, I would like to remind you that the new daylight savings time will start this weekend. If you have not done so already, please download and update DST patches to your mobile device from the links below:

- Palm OS

- Windows Mobile

- BlackBerry

If you are a TechTime Calendar user who scheduled meetings during the dates of March 11 - April 1 and October 28 - November 4 - prior to the Oracle patch being installed the weekend of 2/17 - please remember to check meeting times as they will appear to start one hour later that usual. You can use the 'snapshot' of the TechTime calendar that was created prior to installing the patch <http://calendar-too.mit.edu> as a tool to compare dates for your calendar during those periods.

Thank you all for your patience, and please let me know if you have any questions.
