[GLOBAL WARMING, UP CLOSE AND LOCAL]

Signs of global warming aren't turning up just at the polar ice caps.
When daffodils bloom in January in New England, it's clear the climate
is off kilter more generally. Primack explains a major research effort
designed to document local signs of global warming.

SPEAKER:
Richard B. Primack
Professor of Conservation Biology, Boston University

[QUOTE]
"Early flowering plants are very responsive to climate change, whereas
late flowering ones like goldenrods are not very responsive. Highbush
blueberry is flowering almost a month earlier than 150 years ago."
